“Snack di weg” is the name of a new snack made in combination by Austrias traditional sausage manufacturer Loidl, and the world famous salty snack maker Soletti. Two traditional Austrian companies got together to create a whole new snack adventure. Small sausage balls with crispy breadsticks in the shape of the famous Kornspitz.
Loidl Soletti Kornspitz Snack has a long shelf life without any refrigeration and also received the Austrian AMA seal of quality. I must confess that the sausage was not spicy enough for me. That was because I chose to take the mild version. There should be also a spicy version. But I think it’s a funny idea, and I really liked those crunchy Kornspitz Soletti pieces.

I was not so excited about the sausage balls. Their taste was just too boring. But the Kornspitz Soletti pieces were wonderful!

Sorgers salami sausages called Salanettis are advertised as “the new party snack”. Sorger is a meat and sausage manufacturer from Styria with a long traditon. The company exists since more than 100 years. Everything started 1907 with a small butchers shop and a restaurant in a small village. Big investments and always the most modern production engineering made Sorger to a very successful company.
There are two types of Salanettis. The mild one and the spicy one. I chose the spicy one, as I always like it a bit aromatic. The long and thin sausages are just perfect. The inside is not too fat, in comperison with low level salami sausages from discount stores, and also the taste is a true enjoyment. Salanettis are made of premium pork and covered in white mould.

A look to the inside. Everything is meager and you taste that. No fat pieces like in versions of discount stores. This makes Salanettis to a true enjoyment.

We Austrians had to wait a long time until a currywurst for the microwave was available in supermarkets. No Austrian food or sausage manufacturer was interested in such a product. It was the German company of Meica who brought the currywurst into the Austrian market. Now it’s available in almost all Austrian supermarkets.
The currywurst is something very exotic in Austria. Usually not available in sausage huts and snack bars. That’s the main charm and attraction for me, and of course also the good taste.
Meica CurryKing Currywurst only needs 2 minutes in the microwaves with 750 watt. So it’s a fast meal for the busy ones with a wonderful taste. I especially like the thick and spicy sauce. A true enjoyment with white bread and a glass of beer.
Meica is a very traditional sausage manufacturer in Germany. The company was established in 1908 in the North West of Germany, close to the border of the Netherlands.

I must confess Sammy’s Super Sandwich is not an Austrian product. But it’s sold in almost all Austrian supermarkets and compared to Austrian sandwiches superior in size, storability, and taste. That’s the reason I always take Sammy’s Super Sandwich when I want to make myself a toast.
Sammy’s Super Sandwich is extremly soft and consists of weath. It’s in the category called “white wheat bread”. There are two different packages available. One has 375g and the other one 750g.
Sammy’s Super Sandwich is manufactured by the company called “Harry”. Harry is one of Germanies leading bread manufacturer. The traces of the company reach back to the year 1688. It was a small baker’s shop in Hamburgs district Altona.

Update: As I see on the wrapping, the famous Austrian bread and cake manufacturer Ölz is somehow involved in the production or distribution of Sammy’s Super Sandwich. So there is more Austrian inside as I have thought before.

The German expression for Inzersdorfer Sausages In Goulash Soup is Würstel in Gulaschsaft. It’s sold in a can and available in almost all Austrian supermarkets. The meal consists of 4 sausages from pork in a spicy goulash soup. The preperation is quite easy. 20 minutes in a cooking pot or 4 minutes in a microwave. I chose the cooking pot and it was a quite good decision.
The sausages are very soft. Very good for old people with bad teeth. The goulash soup is very tasty. I enjoyed it with white bread and beer.

Guschlbauer Chocolate Cubes are called “Guschlbauers Wienerwürfel” and manufactured in an Upper Austrian village known as St. Willibald. Guschlbauer is a local factor in the province of Upper Austria when it comes to candy and cakes. If there is an exhibition or an event, you can be sure to find the Guschlbauer truck selling sweets and cakes of the own production.
I found the chocolate cubes of Guschlbauer in the supermarket. The taste was really brillant. I do love dry cakes. And this is one is dust dry. The shining example of Guschlbauers chocolate cube should be no secret. It’s the Original Sacher cake. And I have to admit that this chocolate cube of Guschlbauer tasted not worser, or even the same as the Original Sacher cake. It’s really something to enjoy. But of course it depends if you like dry or juicy cakes.

Schärdinger Schlossdamer Cheese is manufactured in the Styrian town of Voitsberg. The cheese has different holes and a very mild and slight sweet taste. The slices of the cheese are quite thick, but maybe that is the way is used to be.
Schärdinger Schlossdamer Cheese: the cheese for savourers who love it a bit mild.
I tried this cheese on a bread with butter and ham.

Original Wiener Beinschinken is manufactured by Viennas traditional butchery Radatz. It was Franz Radatz who wanted to do something with “eating” to help the starving people of Vienna after the second world war.
It was quite a nice experience to taste this special kind of ham. The ham is delicately and sapful. The flavour tasteful and not too spicy. Just perfect.

Inzersdorfers bean soup with beans and bacon is a wonderful and tasty dish from the can. The product has no preservatives and excites with an unchilled preservability.
Inzersdorfer Bohnensuppe can be made in the cooking pot (20 minutes), and also in the microwave (4 minutes). I enjoyed this dish with some slices of fresh black bread. The can of 400g fills one soup plate, as you can see on the picture. The bacon pieces are rather small and rarely. Beans dominate the dish, but that was no problem for me. I was really excited about it, and I am sure I am going to buy Inzersdorfer Bohnensuppe again soon.
